Phenomenological model of hardening and flow for Ti-6Al-4 V titanium alloy sheets under hot forming conditions

Hardening is the core factor to determine deformation uniformity in sheet metal forming. Hot of titanium alloy sheets encounters coupled effects strain hardening, rate hardening and softening, which makes determination forming parameters aiming for an enhanced very difficult practical processes. This paper presents a new model quantify Ti-6Al-4 V under hot conditions based on underlying correlation between uniform hardening. Firstly, precisely characteristics sheets, tensile uniaxial tests using Gleeble systems at various rates 0.01–1 s−1 temperatures 973–1123 K were performed systematically. A newly developed volume-based correction method stress–strain curves thermo-mechanical testing was proposed eliminate damaging effect temperature gradients calculations, enables softening be determined precisely.
